India’s passenger vehicle sales charts for February 2026 saw strong competition at the top, with Tata Motors securing two positions among the three best-selling models. The Tata Nexon finished as the country’s highest-selling car for the month with 19,430 units, continuing its consistent performance in the compact SUV segment.The Maruti Suzuki Dzire came very close to taking the top position. The sedan recorded 19,326 units, missing the lead by a small margin of just over 100 units. In third place was the Tata Punch, which posted sales of 18,748 units. With both the Nexon and Punch among the top three, Tata Motors maintained a strong presence in the SUV space during the month.
Among other high-volume models, the Hyundai Creta recorded 17,938 units, followed closely by the Maruti Suzuki Brezza with 17,863 units. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga also remained a steady performer, registering sales of 17,807 units in February.Next up, stood another Maruti Suzuki model with the Wagon R clocking 14,885 units. It was followed by the Swift which stood at 14,833 units. Then, the ninth highest-selling model was the Scorpio range with 14,665 units sold followed by the Maruti Suzuki Baleno which rounded off the top ten list with 14,632 units sold.The February results once again highlighted the strong demand for SUVs in the Indian market, particularly in the compact segments. As for brands, there were six products in the top ten list for Maruti Suzuki, two for Tata Motors, and one nameplate each for Hyundai Motor India and Mahindra & Mahindra.
