A recall has been announced for the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and the Lexus LX in India. This voluntary recall has been announced over a possible transmission-related issue. The recall covers selected units of both luxury SUVs and is aimed at fixing a software problem linked to the automatic gearbox.

Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, Lexus LX recall: Is your SUV affected?

A total of 969 units of the Land Cruiser LC300 manufactured between September 4, 2024, and September 30, 2025, are affected. In addition, 117 units of the Lexus LX produced between March 6, 2025, and September 29, 2025, are also part of the recall exercise.According to the company, the issue is related to the 10-speed automatic transmission used in these SUVs. The gearbox relies on linear solenoids to control gear shifts. If one of these components fails, the transmission may allow the engine to rev higher than intended in certain gears. This could reduce power delivery and may also lead to damage inside the transmission. In some situations, the problem could also result in a transmission fluid leak.

To fix the issue, authorised dealerships will update the electronic control modules that manage both the engine and transmission. The required software update will be carried out as part of the recall process.Owners of the affected SUVs are expected to be contacted by dealers, but customers can also check with their nearest service centre to confirm whether their vehicle is included in the recall.Stay tuned to TOI Auto for latest updates on the automotive sector and do follow us on our social media handles on Facebook, Instagram and X.
