Ashwin Kumar’s ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ is quietly carving out a space for itself at the box office. While it may not have made headlines before its release, the animated epic has been steadily pulling audiences, especially those curious about its mythological theme.According to data from the Sacnilk website, the film has managed to earn Rs 16.02 crore (India net) within its first four days across all languages. Its performance reflects a growing interest in animated storytelling rooted in Indian mythology, even if its regional versions began on a slower note.

From modest openings to impressive weekend surge

On Day 1, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ opened with a modest Rs 1.75 crore. The Hindi version contributed the bulk of this figure with Rs 1.3 crore, while the Telugu version added Rs 35 lakhs.

The Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam dubs began much slower, registering Rs 5 lakhs, Rs 2 lakhs, and Rs 3 lakhs respectively. Saturday saw a dramatic jump to Rs 4.6 crore, and Sunday surged even higher with Rs 9.5 crore, marking the film’s best day yet.

Slow Monday but overall positive momentum

As expected, Monday saw a steep dip, with the film earning only Rs 17 lakhs on Day 4. However, given its total haul of Rs 16.02 crore in just four days, the film seems to have found a good ground. It’s particularly noteworthy that an animated epic—a genre still finding its place in mainstream Indian cinema—is managing to hold its own at the box office. While it’s too early to predict its long-term run, Mahavatar Narsimha’s weekend surge shows promise.

Positive reviews for the movie

Twitter is flooded with positive reviews. One Tweet read, “(Rating : 4/5)Maha Avatar Narasimha film showed me Majestic of the Narasimha. First I would like to congratulate the animation team cz they’ve done an impressive job crafting detailed environments and character expressions. ” Another review reads, “#MahaAvatarNarasimha is not just a film – it’s a divine experience.
