Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, directed by Ayan Mukerji, may have released in 2013, but over the years, the film has achieved a cult status. Fans cherish the film, its dialogues and its songs even now. The film, which also featured Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur, enjoyed a successful re-release last year and fans are even wanting a sequel to it. More so, after recently, during a fan meet on her birthday, Deepika said that she and Ranbir do discuss the idea of doing a romcom together. Now Ranbir has addressed the curiousity surrounding the sequel to the film. The actor had a live Valentine’s Day Instagram session on the social media account of his brand. When asked about sequels to his earlier films, including ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, the actor made it clear that he feels the story reached a natural and satisfying conclusion.“Lot of you guys want part 2 but there’s so many new movies, new directors, and new ideas to work with. I think ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ had the perfect end. So I don’t think it warrants a part 2,” he said. While he ruled out a direct continuation, Ranbir hinted that audiences might still get something with a similar emotional flavour in the future. “But maybe another film would come, of a similar genre, which you guys would enjoy too,” he added.During the same interaction, Ranbir also offered an update on ‘Brahmastra Part Two: Dev’, the sequel to the fantasy epic helmed by Ayan Mukerji. “Brahmastra 2 is in the works, we shall start that movie very soon, sooner than you expect,” he revealed, building anticipation around the much-awaited project. On the work front, Ranbir’s last theatrical outing was ‘Animal’, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Up next, he will be seen in ‘Love & War’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. However, Ranbir said during the same live session that Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ will come out first, this Diwali and the Bhansali film may be delayed to next year.
