CBI has taken over investigation into the assault of Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath, allegedly by Punjab Police personnel, and registered two FIRs, officials said on Friday. The Bath family has welcomed the CBI takeover. Gurtej Singh Dhillon, brother-in-law of Col Bath, said now there is hope for justice. He said that one of the officers named in the FIR following Colonel Bath’s additional statement has yet to be booked by CBI but is expected to be included in the re-registered FIR soon.
